Darek Ziółek made his stage debut in 1985 at Jazz Jantar Festival, in a band led by Zbigniew Namysłowski. He has collaborated with most prominent blues and jazz musicians, such as Ireneusz Dudek, Leszek Możdżer, Mark Soskin, Lora Szafran, Krystyna Prońko and Ewa Uryga.

In 2000 Darek started up his first own music project: D-Bass group. In 1999 he released "Blue Blues" album, a result of collaboration with Grzegorz Kapołka, followed by "Blue Blues II" featuring among others Tomasz Stańko and awarded with "Best guitar blues album of 2001" title. Next year he released his first solo album "4 BASS" containing 10 jazz standards played purely using bass guitar. For this album Darek gained The Special Award of "Gitara i Bas" magazine. In 2005 he recorded with leaders of "Krzak" group an album titled "3. Numer" and recognized as the best guitar rock issue. In 2007 he released his second solo album: "Voice'n'Bass".
